Managing IFTA Fuel Tax Rates

The other day, we were wanting to find a simple chart of IFTA fuel tax rates for the past few years. We wanted to sort the rates from highest tax rate to lowest. We only were interested in Diesel fuel and only in US dollars. We obviously started at the source and checked out www.iftach.org. You can download the fuel tax rates for a given quarter, but the way they are presented is very difficult to use. Then I did a simple Google search for IFTA fuel tax rates and came up with the following:
http://www.truckmiles.com/taxrates.asp#IFTA%20Tax
Besides their information being from 2002, their ‘Printable HTML’ link didn’t work in my browser and their Excel file was absolutely terrible.

These guys provide you rates if you have a database available.
http://www.tax.state.ny.us/pdf/2010/motor/ifta105.pdf and http://www.docstoc.com/docs/7968094/IFTA-FUEL-TAX-RATE-CHART/
This are very typical of most sites. The information is clear, but I can’t do anything with it.
We decided to create the page we were searching for. It is now located at www.iftaplus.com/ifta-fuel-rates.htm. The page provides a simple to use interface that allows you to filter fuel types and sort based on Jurisdiction or tax rate. We also provide an Excel version of the original information we used from www.iftach.org.
We hope your next search for IFTA fuel tax rates brings you to our page and you can avoid the frustrations we initially spent.
