This morning we received the following notice from the state of Minnesota.
IFTAPlus.
RE: 3rd Qtr Tax Return filing
Dear Sir or Madam:
Beginning first quarter 2006, all carriers were notified that they must use the form we provide each quarter. This notification is sent as a reminder every year at time of renewal. The Minnesota Statutes allows the Commission of Public Safety to require Minnesota Motor Carriers to file the appropriate form. Your form is not an appropriate form. It will not be accepted.
If this form is used in place of the one we provide, we will return it to the carrier. If the subsequent return is filed after the due date, a late penalty and interest will apply. The forms provided by the Minnesota Prorate office are the official tax returns accepted.
If you have any questions regarding this notice, please call as soon as possible at (651) 205 – 4110.
Sincerely,
Sandra J. Christenson
Lead IFTA Auditor – MN Prorate
